Nothing to Hide

In 1945 Doctor Mary Barton opened the first artificial insemination clinic in London. Due to the social stigma attached to this process at the time, it was a covert operation. The women who used her services were sworn to secrecy to never tell their offsping the true nature of their conception. Consequently all records of who used the clinic have been destroyed and there is no permanent record of this information.

I discovered recently, by a chance DNA test that my father was concieved at the clinic and that his bilogical father was Derek Richter, a prominant neuroscientist at that time. Nothing to hide explores and documents the 'children' concieved at The Mary Barton Clinic and documents the stories photographically, and verbally, of how they discovered their true paternity.
